St Giles School pupil wins Christmas Card Competition

Yvette_Christmas_card_photo.jpgPontefract St Giles student Honorata Jachymiak got a surprise on Friday when local MP Yvette Cooper announced the winning entry to her annual Christmas card competition in a special assembly to the whole school.

Honorata’s design, a snow man on a field of snow flakes, was the overall winner out of dozens of designs submitted by local students from across the Five Towns.

The winning card will be used by Yvette to send Christmas greetings to people in the Wakefield district and around the country.

Yvette Cooper said:

“Every year it gets harder and harder to pick a winning design, the designs are so wonderful. Children around here have great imaginations and there were some really eye catching designs and although I would have loved to be able to use all the designs submitted, Honorata’s card is lovely and captures the joy of Christmas time perfectly.”
