Pontefract Monkhill Station is a vital resource for local people but in its current state it can still feel isolated and unsafe at night.

That’s why I’ve joined forces with local campaigners to fight for a direct train service to London and an improved station for Monkhill.

Everyone is please with the direct train service to London. But now it is time to create a link to Leeds so that local residents don't need to use their cars to get about.

Local services will suffer thanks to the policies of the new Government but I am determined to work with local campaigners and with Wakefield Council to make sure that Monkhill Station isn't one of the casualties.
