Last week Yvette and neighbouring MP Jon Trickett met with the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust again this week following the preparation of a report by ‘critical friends’ appointed from outside by the Strategic Health Authority. 

The MPs have been urging the Trust to reopen Pontefract A&E at night, and to bring more services back into the Pontefract Hospital.

Yvette said: “The Trust should not think people will give up on this - we won’t. We need action now to reopen the A&E at night. We will keep knocking on their door every week for as long as it takes, because local people need A&E fully reopened, and more services brought back to Pontefract.”
