Working hard for Normanton, Pontefract, Castleford & Knottingley

local transport survey

Road safety matters to all of us and speeding and dangerous parking, especially around schools are constantly brought up at my surgeries and community meetings.

I want to know what you think. What more do we need to do to make our local roads safe or do you think that things are fine where you live? Let me know by completing the survey so that I can see where there are problems that need to be tackled.

How safe do you feel on our roads? (1=not safe at all, 5=completely safe)

Q: What is the most dangerous road locally? How would you make this safer? Please give me your thoughts below.
A: Spittal Hardwick Lane when drivers see the straight bit of road they speed and it’s supposed to be 30 miles per hour. In the early hours at the weekend we have cars racing each other. But it is very rare anyone passes doing 30 only when they see a police car passing. The flashing signs are not a deterant we need speed cameras all the way up and down Spittal Hardwick Lane/ Monkhill because of the issues. Even trucks in the early hours speed. Something needs to be undertaken. Neighbours cannot park in there drives without been honked at or worse.
