  • Yvette's court closure concerns
    Local MP Yvette Cooper is deeply concerned by the government’s threat to close two Pontefract Courts. The shock plans to shut down Pontefract Magistrates’ and County Court were slipped out by the Ken Clarke, the Justice Secretary last week in a bid to save money.   • School building cash axed
    Following Yvette's successful campaign, Labour had promised cash for new school buildings and facilities for Airedale High, Castleford High, Carleton High, Knottingley High and Freeston.
